Welcome, my name is Alyssa. I reside in the mountains of Northern California, with my husband, whom I affectionately call E.

I started Lovely Green Girl as a place to share a part of me, a part that I feel others can connect with. The idea behind all of our actions and motivations is somehow rooted in connection. To connect, to be kindred, to share something with a complete stranger is a simple desire, innate to our human race. We need these random connections. We need them to survive, and remind ourselves that there is beauty in this wild and untamed world we live in.

This place will be a lot like my mind, running with glittery grand ideas, and not always completely cohesive. But I believe the vulnerability of a shared journey is fascinating, and beautiful. While I love many things, one thing that is most important to me is my desire to live and eat close to nature, as God intended. I believe wholeheartedly in living an organic lifestyle, free from over processed man made foods and products. I believe our bodies are equipped to heal, given the right nurturing . I believe were created by a Wonderful Maker, Prince of Peace. To touch the earth, to feel and see how everything begins and follow it to where it ends is to be truly connected. Here, at Lovely Green Girl you will find shared recipes, you will also find my ideas for simple gatherings and daily living of this life I have been given.

As an approaching mid-twenties girl, with my fair share of mistakes and heartache I have gone back and forth deciding who and what I want to be. One thing remains always true, I find myself coming back to food. It is where I find balance. Taking bitterness and transforming it to sweet, molding the messy to make beauty, taking components of life and mixing them together to create that which was not there before. Food, where it begins and where it ends, is the essence of life. Join me in curating a lovely life, where each day is a chance and a choice to return to our roots and find that which is lovely.

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. Philippians 4:8

I'd love to get to know you...
